Great success for the activation event at the pilot site in Saalfelden!
The community of Saalfelden is ready for the inaugural event of the most accessible tourism for all citizens!
On September 19, 2020 at 5.30 p.m. at the Schloss-Ritzen Museum and on the shores of Lake Ritzensee the presentation of the participatory workshop took place, organised by the theatre production centre La Piccionaia and in collaboration with the municipality of Saalfelden within the SMART project.
What is a participatory workshop?
It is a workshop in which citizens, artists, cultural and tourist operators work together to create a Silent Play itinerary, an innovative product for the enhancement of the cultural and natural heritage of a territory.
The Mayor of Saalfelden, Erich Rohrmoser, opened the meeting with the collaboration of the Project Manager Oliver Schuh-Dillinger. The latter briefly presented the objectives of the SMART project, highlighting the importance of the concrete involvement of citizens for the valorisation of natural and cultural heritage as a common good and inviting the community to participate.
On this occasion, the online campaign "Participate!" was launched, active on the SMART project website and dedicated to the collection of content open to the community, such as texts, documents, audio, photos and videos that describe the culture, history and landscape of your territory.
The curator of the Schloss-Ritzen Museum, Andrea Dillinger, also spoke highlighting how the promotion of culture through the keyword accessibility represents a great opportunity for development for local tourism.
Afterwards a simulation of a Silent Play was organised, a travelling conversation on the shores of Lake Ritzensee led by the actor Carlo Presotto.
It was an experience of great suggestion for the participants, in which the actor Presotto illustrated the Silent Play device and several stops were made to encourage dialogue with the citizens, allowing them to express opinions, ideas and wishes.
The event was attended by more than 25 people, citizens of all ages, including deaf participants, cultural tourism operators and representatives of local authorities interested in promoting accessibility.
Important was the involvement of 2 Italian-German interpreters who provided simultaneous interpretation for the entire duration of the event. The participation of the LIS interpreter was also fundamental, giving deaf people the opportunity to take an active part in the initiative.
The event was an excellent opportunity for citizens to reflect and express themselves on the promotion of the culture of accessibility and to know the opportunities to enhance the territory, offering excellent food for thought for the Municipality of Saalfelden.
The meeting was also relevant to highlight the importance of sign language and take a further step in this direction.
The event took place in compliance with the anti-covid safety regulations.
