Survey on the accessibility of museums and cultural sights: tours not only for people with disabilities!
As part of the Interreg project SMART, we are conducting an online survey to delve deeper into the topic of accessibility of museums and other cultural attractions through an opinion poll of visitors and cultural and operators of the cultural and tourism sector.
SMART aims to enhance the local historical, architectural and landscape heritage by promoting and implementing different forms of visitation that can be used by all, regardless of individual abilities. Multisensory routes, multimedia themed trails and digital technologies such as augmented reality, virtual reality and artificial intelligence are being developed. These innovative solutions are not only aimed at inclusion, but can also represent added value for the museums and increase their attractiveness.
The aim of the survey is to get to know better, on the one hand, the most frequently occurring problems, needs and expectations of visitors and, on the other hand, the priorities and the willingness of operators to innovate. Assessing the potential of new technologies to improve accessibility, is another research topic.
