12. Jacquard frame

In 1801 J. M. Jacquard developed a warp movement system that controlled a large number of threads independently. This was achieved by means of perforated cards which allowed each individual warp thread to be controlled. As a result, it is possible to produce fabrics with very elaborate patterns called Jacquard fabrics or fancy fabrics.
